Comments:

Dennis Lee does a stellar job incorporating many Canadian references throughout his poems. Containing many hilarious illustrations, such as the picture for The Hockey Game, this book is the epitome of uniqueness. The language is memorizing. For example, in the poem Tongue Twister, it is written “Someday I’ll go to Winnipeg/To win a peg-leg pig./But will a peg-leg winner win/The piglet’s ill-got wig?” Dealing with a variety of subject matters, these poems are ideal for any age.
